| Researching names on Ilford War Memorial(WW1) which is having a re-dedication Service on 15th August at 11.a.m. Does anybody have photo's of soldiers who died??? there are over 1,000 names on the walls of the War Memorial Chapel who gave their lives for King & Country. Any information would be gratefully received.

| I left Ilford in 1939 with my Mom, just before war broke out. I was 9yrs old My school in Ilford was Meath school, head was Miss Fenn my teacher was Mrs Osbourne. It was a private school. My Mom Dad and I lived at 203 Mortlake Road. I have got some beautiful memories of that time. Our next door neighbour was a Mrs Johnson with a daughter called Joan. On the other side was a Mrs Page who lived with her son Willie. Would like to see Ilford again but I think my travelling days are over. |

| Trip down memory lane indeed! I went to Cleveland rd and Loxford before moving back to Hackney in 63 then to the states in 1970

| Hi, Lucked in on this site - wow what a trip down memory lane. I was born in Ilford '51 went to Highlands Primary and then to Dane Secondary Modern - Bummer there is no Alumni Assoc. we all such a likely bunch - I've been in Eastern Australia ever since Dane's let me out in '64.

| Laura and I were best friends and we went to BEALE HIGHSCHOOL And our tutor was Mr Thomas we were form 1-5s and we were at school from 1978-1983. Laura lived down Lord Avenue, i think it was Number 11. And her father owned a Shoe Shop in Barking. In about 1984 her parents emigrated and Laura stayed in the U.K. I saw her last in 1987, after that she possibly emigrated herself.
