Went to Highlands Primary from 74 remember the school motto was 'Manors Market Man' or something like that.Headmaster was Mr Crummings.Great memories especially of Sports day in Hyde park. Sadly the sports field is now a shoe shop.Went on to Dane Secondary where I made my escape age 15 in 1982.Remember close friends Dave Garnish , Robert Redford. I have been happily married for 6 months 8 grown up married kids and have been living in Basildon for years.Well the blond pony tail has gone but I still have fond memories of the days when we were singing the latest 'hits' Mandoilin Man & 'Rub a dub ho hop' in the playground at Dane. I heard that Dane is now a shoe shop training college.

bob graham - if you haven't seen Ilford since 1974, just keep your fond memories and don't come back. You'll be very disappointed.

I worked at Ilford Film in the early 60's. I remember a blacksmith's shop by the side of the entrance. I fixed punch card accounting equipment for ICL. I also worked on the same equipment at the Town Hall. Came to the USA in 74 and never went back. I must visit during my next trip.

Digger, you wrote: "Lived in Ilford until we moved to New Zealand in 1975" and "I have very fond memories of Ilford." Doesn't sound like the sort of statements made by someone who moved back a few years later!
