I recently stayed in Ilford with a friend while I visited London, and participated in a group art show at the Woburn Gallery--I am from the United States. I fell completely in love with Ilford. Everyone was kind and made sure we had a good time. I am already looking forward to my return.

We recently spent 2 weeks staying with a friend in Ilford. We loved it. Everyone was warm and welcoming. With our American accents, we were presumed lost a couple of times, but in the East End, we had experiences that cannot be had on any tourist agenda. Our host made certain we had a great time experiencing delights ranging from pie & mash to jellied eels to kebab to cockles to Sunday Roast with her family. Anyway, I don't think a visit to London is complete without getting out to Stratford, Ilford and Manor Park. Thanks for accepting us Yanks and showing us a really delightful time.

Anybody out there remember Johnny Southwood, Mickey Webb, Kenny Stannard and many others all from the Downshall Secondary 5th year of 1967. I left the area in 1967 and joined the Royal Navy. Would like to know if any one is still around. E-Mail me.
