    The Marjorie Colins Multiple Sclerosis Centre in Grove Road, Chadwell Heath is £2000 better off thanks to the women of For Those In Need. Bob Holnes was invited to lunch with them while the cheque was presented.

  • Pupils Evacuated as Fire rages through room in Loxford School of Science and Technology
    Pupils were evacuated as a fire that was though to have started in a waste paper bin, gutted an empty first floor business studies room at the reat of Loxford School of Science and Technology. Three others were smoke damaged. The fire happened at about 4:20pm, after most pupils were at home but when there were a few staying behind for after-school activities. 30 firefighters turned up to deal with it.

  • 19 year old convicted for Internet fraud
    A 19 year old man conned Internet auction customers out of £16,000. Up to 200 victims were lured into the scam. What he did was offer goods for auction and to let the winning bidder send him cash and cheques to his home, instead of using a credit card online because of the potential security issues of using a card on the Internet. Once he cashed it, he didn't send the goods. Lawyers and even a Florida judge were fooled!

  • 5 out of 7 houses surrounding a particular phone mast have a cancer patient
    Iain Duncan Smith has called for more investigation into the link between cancer and mobile phone masts as it is discovered that people living in 5 out of 7 homes surrounding a building with 16 masts on, have cancer.

  • The Disturbing Costs of Fireworks Night
    Here is a summary of this year's firework related incidents that happened in Redbridge:
  • Wednesday: Arson attack on fireworks shop causing £4000 in damage - people broke in and lit a selection in the middle of the store. Four fire engines were used and a coupld and a baby in the flat above the shop had to be rescued.
  • Four cars set alight in Ilford on Monday.
  • Bins set alight in Perryman's Farm Road
  • Block of garages gutted by fire in Mansfield Road
  • Firework through letterbox of an air conditioning firm.
  • Three Royal Mail postboxes had fireworks inserted.
  • Park pavillion set alight in Seven Kings Park. Two fire engines needed.
