- 200 queue to see pebbles
Two pebbles were found by teenage brothers whilst on holiday in the Isle of Wight. One had natural markings spelling the name of Allah in Arabic. The other found a pebble, the markings on it spelling out Muhammed, a prophet in the Koran. Their father took the pebbles to an Islamic centre in Ilford where 200 people queued to see them. He said 'You could spend your whole life looking for something like this and not find it'.

- Thieves steal memorial benches
Thieves stole three benches dedicated to former members. The manager says they were irreplacable. About £1800 worth of garden furniture was taken.

- Brawl on Sunday afternoon next to the Town Hall
Sunday shoppers got to watch a fight involving four shoppers and a group of guests arriving at the Town Hall for a Bengali wedding. Police do not know what started the fight. It happened at 2:30pm last Sunday.

- Man charged over stealing £1.99 takeaway from a man in the street
An unemployed man was taken to court for stealing a £1.99 chicken meal off a man in the street. Richard Hoskins, magistrate said 'some people might think this is a small crime' and that he could have been sent to prison for it. He gave the man the option of paying a £75 fine or spending a day in custody.

- Fairlop racetrack REJECTED
The Fairlop Racetrack which has been in the planning for a few years now has been finally told it will not go ahead. It would have included a 37 metre high grandstand and would have been built on Green Belt land.
