- Oh, not that old excuse...
Forget the old excuse of 'leaves on the line' or even 'the wrong type of snow' for reasons why trains are late, a great excuse was spotted at Ilford train station as to why a ticket machine was out of order: 'This machine is out of service due to infestation of mice.'. A spokesperson explained that a mouse had chewed through a cable in the machine.

- Redbridge's first strip club gets the green light
A bar in Redbridge has been given the go ahead to employ strippers. They will have performances before and after the screening of football matches. Some condition shave been imposed, including that there will be a two-metre distance between performer and customer. Perhaps in an attempt to convince people it's a good thing, the licensee has said that a new entry fee would go to fund football training for children in the borough! - Burglar at large spotted in park
Whilst early-morning jogging in the park, two off duty police officers spotted a wanted burglar at large. In Barkingside Recreation Ground at 7:30am they sprinted after him, chasing after him through the park and into Cranbrook road and was cought outside Esso petrol station.

- Hospital man fed lamb and spuds 16 times in 8 consecutive days!
A man staying at Whipps Cross Hospital was served the same meal for 8 days running. Not only was his dinner the same every day but his lunch was too, and his lunch was the same as his dinner. He has a food allergy to wheat and gluten so could not eat normal meals, but he thinks there was a somewhat of a lack of imagination when preparing his meals.
