have looked at the history section-interested in the visit of the queen to the 1000th council house-I lived nearby at the time and have lots of stories about the loaned furniture, carpets etc!I have a photograph of the event in one of the books of old photographs and I did trace one of the children who lived at the house at the time. What I'd really like is permission to use one of the old photographs of william torbitt school on our website, but the local library are being difficult over copyright!

I am very much involved with Pauline Bane on the william torbitt website-it is good that you have given us a link. Noticed the comment about the passing of Ken Aston-he was, prior to joining Newbury Park school as head, a teacher in my days at Torbitt. Some of his memories of his time there can be seen on our website.. I will review your site in more detail regularly-I am particularly interested in the history side of things. I would like to expand on the history I am producing of the school-I am well advanced with the family history of william torbitt himself and I have made the offer on the friendsreunited site to send anyone interested a copy of the ancestry details.

Dermot Buckley, there is a primary school on the site of Downshall Secondary and the old Downshall Primary is now a youth centre. Canon Palmer is still going strong and still tears up this little chiefs from Valentines and Seven Kings! Hope you enjoy life in Perth!!

Hi Ive had a message on the board for about 6 months now and have had 2 replys from lost friends which I consider is fantastic for my age group ( Iam 66 ) as there cant be many my age who are P.C. iliterate ha ha, Ive also just registered on W.W.W.friendsreunited.co.uk check it out,my congratulations to the author this is a great site the only thing that it may need is a message board update facility.

I had occasion to visit Ilford yesterday, to see a relative and as we were going along Little Ilford Lane I noticed a traffic sign that said the road would be one way, from the 5/11/2000. Great site anyway

hi

Great site. I have tremendous memories of Ilford. Been out here in Oz for 30 years. Tried to locate an old school - Downshall Secondary - I know it was a bit rough, but great; who knocked it down. Any ex students of Downshall or Canon Palmers.

Are u getting paid to do this website, as I find most of it extremely boring and irrelevant?? Fair enough if you are getting a wage from it, but if this is just your idea of a good time you need to get out more. Who cares if Ilford was mentioned on Have I got News for You? Who is interested in Louise from Sleeper being from Gants Hill? Please join the local bridge club or something, maybe take up a sport it is a good way to make friends. Wishing you all the best for the future, maybe you will think I am being harsh but there seems to be a lot of effort going into the design of this site but not really of anything of relevance. Sorry!!
