been in ilford for almost 4 years, thinks its a cool place. the only thing that brings it down is the crime rate. something needs to be done about that. have got a small baby and dont like the idea of him growing up here cause of that.

V. nice site. I was born at King George's Hospital [now East London Mat. Hosp. I hear!]. When a baby, lived at Stainforth Road, Newbury Park with the Kohns [landlords] then 49 Norfolk Road, Seven Kings until we left in 1969...went to SS Peter & Pauls, then Canon Palmer's...remember the name Steve Spiller but not the face! Good 2 c Ilford on the net...proud to have come from there still - still tell everyone I'm an Essex girl lol -enjoy!

I've lived in Ilford for nearly 27 yrs, minus a few yrs away at university and travelling or working abroad. The place has obviously changed over the years, with a mixture of good and bad changes (depending on one's outlook). However, it is difficult to find a place that offers so much in way of variety - good parks, restaurants, clubs, pubs, shops, schools, libraries, sports & leisure facilities, places of worship, cultural diversity, public transport, etc. Also, Ilford is so well placed both for the city and the countryside, not to mention two international airports, etc. Like anywhere in the world, Ilford needs a little attention, especially in such areas as public area cleanliness and crime management. Given this attention, Ilford could deservedly become a (more) desirable place to live, work and play in.

I am so glad that Ilford has it own website, it so imformative. It is very organized. I will be happy to make new friends and exchange ideas with other people who are living in Ilford. A part of me misses being British.

It's been fifteen years since I left Ilford in August of 1987. I used to live in Coventry Road in Ilford. I have fond memories of Ilford. I spend most of my time in Valentines Park. I had a splendid time in the park. I am looking for old school friends from Valentines High School between the years of 1981-1987. I would love to here from you. Now I live in Monrovia, California in the U.S.A. Anybody out there that used to know me may contact me at this address 1214 S. Mayflower Avenue, Unit F, Monrovia, California 91016. My telephone number is (626) 599-8018. I miss being British.
