Hello
I inherited a Howard of Ilford Land Rover fire engine registration number A00224 built in 1960 and registered 24th October 1961.I am trying to find an original photograph or any written information about it's history. I have asked the local Archives to check out the information in their Howard of Ilford docs/photos and am awaiting their response. However I'm not hopeful as I understand that either 1960 or 1961 yearbook is the only one missing from their collection. Does any one have any knowledge of photos of the period? I would be grateful for any tips/guidance which would help in my search. In addition have any of you heard of any existing companies which have had links ( owned by ? )either Howards of Ilford or Laporte Industries. I think there is one such company somewhere towards the North of England which has a brick shed with Howard of Ilford documents.
Any advice will be much appreciated. CHRIS
