| Hi Graham.
It's good to know that someone else went to Loxford Secondary Modern in the early 60's.
I was in the second year when you arrived and went on into the 5th form and became a prefect in 65/6 (you probably wouldn't remember me anyway?) I left in '66.
Do you remember any of the old teachers? Mr Hutchins, Mr Peckett, Mr Paice and Mr Little who taught music?
I saw Mr Hutchins give a friend of mine 6 of the best once for disrupting one of his classes!...lol something that is outlawed now but even so ... they were good times.. I think?
Take care. |

Visitor to Music in the Park () |
| I would just like to say how much I enjoyed listening to young Ryan Green on Sunday. My daughter had heard him sing on Saturday and suggested that we all go to the park on Sunday as she had heard that he was appearing again. I do hope this young man goes far as he is obviously talented with a maturity far beyond his years. |

| I left Gants Hills in 1968 after attending Park Hill & Gearies Secondary Modern and would really love to hear from anyone who remembers me. I played football for both schools and have such fond memories of my old mates. Would really appreciate hearing from some of my old team mates. I live in Beverly Hills and have been practicing law for over 17 years.
Thanks & I look forward to hearing from you!! |

| I have stumbled onto this forum. I lived in Grosvenor Road when the Club Cubana was on the corner. Then moved to kingston Road. Went to loxford sec modern and left it in 1969. Went to collier row then leigh-on-sea. Now live in manchester since 1985. I loved ilford. I even drove a black cab and used to rank in balfour road and gants hill and Barking stn too. It was safe then but would not dare drive a cab now.Yes i remember the swimming pool in valentines park (bloody freezing it was). The abc on saturday mornings. the pioneer market with Rons music shop. Even worked for ilford films in 1969. Gone now. Believe its sainsburys. Will look in on the forum from time time. Great idea starting it whoever you are. From someone who remembers the good old days...... |
