Title: Post lockdown, the future, and beyond in redbridge
Post by yanny on Nov 2nd, 2021, 3:03pm
Been quite a uneasy couple of years with the covid situation,
even though we are not out of the woods yet, society has changed and sadly the shops, restaurants, pubs and other once socially active places have been hit hard.

what does everyone think about the future and where will ilford and the redbridge area be in a 1,2, 5 or 10 years time ??

....the lack of internet traffic on this messageboard has slowed down reccently and hopefully all "the old members" will return, with the exeption of the sadly departed ones like aussie pete, exab and ktype who will live on in the memory as long as this website is active, can be said the same of all the people we used to know when we were young or younger than we are now.......

Will ilford bounce back, or will the home delivery/internet shopping culture finally ruin an area which will find it hard to recover...???

Hey yanny, you're right the messageboard has slowed dramatically.

I'm grateful to all the 'old members' for making it the place it was. The board has had its time, but with facebook etc, it's just not very fashionable anymore :)

I'll raise a glass to our sadly departed members. You are missed.

As for the future, I'll leave for others to add their thoughts (which could take a while, with like 4 posts in the last year, don't wait around for an answer!)

Hello Nigel and Yanny  :)

Long time, no see!

I stop by now and again but not much traffic here, as you say.

I must admit that I still quite like this old style messageboard - it's quaint!

2022 now! I am sure Covid will pack its bags and leave the room before too long!

Wonder how we can get a crowd going again?!

Good wishes to both of you.
