Does anyone know if there are any pubs that have a good old Eastend knees up on a Saturday night. We used to have one in the "Avenue" Little Ilford in the late 50's early 60's, one of the many things I miss.

I don't know anywhere in Ilford that offers the sort of thing I think you mean, Pompey. There's the Cauliflower in Seven Kings where they have regular gigs but it's much more organized than the kind of thing I associate with 'knees up'. Mr Scribbles patronizes more pubs than I do so maybe he'll have some ideas. I'll ask. The last place I can remember with a Sat night pianist and people singing, dancing and generally fooling around (in a totally amiable way) was a pub in Cannon Street Road, off Commercial Road in Wapping but that was decades ago and I think it's long since demolished :(

pompy, im sure i wont be the only one to tell you this, but the image of the east end pub and someone playing a piano with a load of peeps around it singing died out in the late 1990's...... if you can find somewhere that does that sort of thing, good for you.... but its gonna be a difficult task........

| Not far off Tobes, just off the M5 near Stroud, got a couple of "royals" nearby also a few stars of the silver screen and tv seem to like the area.
