Getting back to this subject I don't miss Ilford or Britain and that's not a put down but it's a fact that I've spent 36 years here so I'd probably be like a fish out of water in Ilford these days BUT Suli has just sent me some smashing photo's of the houses that I used to live in one just off Ilford Lane and the other on the Commonwealth Estate and both of them look in better condition now than when I lived there. I think I expected them to both derelict the way some folk on here bang on about Old Ilford Town....Pete.

I'd better hurry up and leave as they have said the new house sellers pack becomes effective from 1 January 2007. A bargain at £600 plus VAT. That's on top of everything else as well as additional aggro to do it. More Labour read tape which is about as much use as a chocolate teapot!

I left Ilford, Seven Kings area as a kid I had lots of good times and the thing I don't miss about the place is the weather. I went to Downshall Secondary Modern and the hardest part was waking up to get to classes.

| I actually think this is one of the best ideas this Goverment has come up with, it'a got to be in everyone's favour except surveyors! seems a crazy situation at the moment where there could be several surveys done on the same property, this will stop that, especially useful when you're looking to buy.

;D Returned to my hometown late last year due to work reasons, as I couldn't get any up in Yorkshire. Although I like Ilford my four years away have made me used to a slower pace of life so I've decided that my period back here will hopefully last until early next year. Then I want to return to Lancashire (where I first went to when I left in 2002) as I prefer the people there to those I have been amongst in Yorkshire. Alot of them seem to be on the bombastic side and those in the old industrial heartlands can't seem to let go of the past and move on. I won't be returning there even though I still jointly own a house. Want to make the best of my time back in Ilford and am enjoying supporting the local football team, even if they aren't doing that well. I just wish more Ilfordians would come along and get behind their local club.

If looking through the football mittoo site for Ilford. Just scroll down to find a club anywhere in the country. Then tap in Ilford, afterwards tap in Isthmian league. Once there look at fixtures in division one north where Ilford play in.

LOL ernest, typical man, you come back to your childhood home, rake up memories and all you can think about is the football!! Are you working nights, cos you only seem to come on in the wee small hours?

Everyone's entitled to a hobby. Just trying to do my bit for a club I like. If that means mentioning them on an Ilford forum so be it. I do have some bad, but mostly good memories from my previous time in Ilford which were non football related. Those good memories don't include my school days, as I hated my senior school and still don't have a very high opinion of the place. As for the typical man bit, football has quite alot of female followers. I should know as my ex girlfriend absolutely adores the game.
