| So, according to you, 194 of the 204 countries taking part in the Olympics come from "the unwashed armpit of the world". Would you care to list the 10 countries that you consider "washed"?

| I'm not the one making the claim. Perhaps you should not post such a statement if you are unable or unwilling to back it up with hard evidence.

Xenophobia Gutsy? I think so As much as I also did not want to have the Games here, I would have liked Paris to do 'em, I do wish them and all involved in them well and hope they are succussful and amazing - I am sure they will be. The thing I am against is the way Londoners have been treated, albeit for a few weeks in Summer. Our city has been hijacked and I for one will be far away watching it (perhaps) whilst brushing up on my Portugese

I was near Valentines park to see the torch and there were very large enthusiastic crowds all over the route. Barkingside High Street was absolutely packed I am told. Just proves this forum is infested with disaffected old grumpies who have nothing better to do than moan about everything under the sun. Get out there and enjoy life, it was nice to see all segments of the community out in the sunshine at 9am having a good time. The Olympics will be great.

High quality, higher-density developments are the only way that essential regeneration in Ilford can occur, whilst at the same time reducing the pressure on precious green-belt land!

well, everyone has different opinions about the olympics, at the mo on here, its more negative than positive. but according to youtube 2 hours ago, dagenham and barkingside are the 2 places where there only seems to be some support via videos being uploaded. maybe its too early 2 say whether the people of ilford are for or against.

I wonder about the sanity of the idiots running (attempting to run?) this ridiculous circus. Two hour queues on the A13 from Rainham to Canning Town because a lane on the Canning Town flyover has been taken out for the Olympics. So, the Olympic officials leave the mountain bike event at Hadleigh and travel down the A13. They get to Rainham, then queue for two hours for the privilege of using the lane that has caused all the delays because it has been empty for two hours waiting for them ... Does not compute!
