No?

Have you got any particular forum in mind?

I know that some local councillors post on one local forum (actually, it's a blog, but I don't think the difference matters in this context) under their own names.

Councillors, by definition, are political animals - most, of course are also Political with a capital 'P' - and need to promote themselves to the electorate, so why should they waste time promoting their views anonymously?

If they have differences with the 'party line' - as has happened recently in Goodmayes - it will become very public, very quickly. Try reading the Ilford Recorder ...

Perhaps you might like to enlighten us as to to why (you think) councillors would wish to post anonymously ...?

...........whether it be on internet forums or in public speaking,. or any other public address,... politicians will only regularly appear when a local/general election is due,or something that will make themselves look good is going on.

"In 1971 Nabarro was the subject of what was then a sensational trial in the wake of an incident when he and his company secretary, Margaret Mason, drove the wrong way around a roundabout. Nabarro insisted that his secretary had been driving at the time, however, and although subsequently acquitted of the driving charge, popular opinion was that he had indeed been driving. He suffered two strokes in the course of the re-trial and his political career was ended by the scandal. He died aged 60 a few months after his acquittal."

Should Rebekah Brooks go to prison and then pay the ultimate price (self inflicted) Cameron would stay well away
